The Château des Baux-de-Provence extends over 5 hectares, and the whole site is a listed Historical Monument.

The streets sparkle, the village comes alive and the magic of Christmas makes its entrance! Young and old alike are invited to celebrate Provençal customs and traditions and take part in creative workshops.
Once again this year, the festivities will be filled with wonder!
From the best-known standards to more sophisticated tunes, the singers of Willow Street draw their inspiration from a variety of musical genres from different eras.
They’ve specially concocted an a capella Christmas programme to celebrate the nativity and joy. And they’re looking forward to sharing it with you.

Free concert
Saint-Vincent Church
Children will rediscover the Christmas sheepfold, as every year, located in a nativity scene setting at the church place.
The flock parades through the village at 11.00 am and grazing on the esplanade of the Château des Baux at 3.00 pm.

In Provence, as in Les Baux, no Christmas is complete without nativity scenes and their santons!
Every year as Christmas approaches, they are the subject of patient and meticulous work to offer visitors decorations and scenes illustrating the life of the village of yesteryear.
Take the opportunity to visit the Musée des Santons a few steps away and discover the history of these little characters with a thousand faces.

Hotel de la Tour de Brau and Cour de Manville
Discover the little world of Provence. The santon museum brings together a large number of items from various collections.
Neapolitan figurines from the 17th and 18th centuries and 19th-century church santons from the Carmelite convent in Avignon are on display.
Open every day all year round
Francis plays traditional songs on his Barrel organ.
He will entertain kids and adults with his music and magic tricks.

The Master Shepherd will lead his flock through the village accompanied by drummers.
An ‘aubade’ (short concert) is given by tambourine players, while local women and girls dance the farandole in traditional costume. They sing the ancestral songs of the félibrige to the rhythm of the galoubet and tambourine, while the Arlésiennes and Mireilles dance the farandole.
The 24 December from 2.00 am to 4.00 pm
For more than 4 centuries, the midnight mass is celebrated in the beautiful Saint-Vincent Church according to an immuable rite.
Provençal songs are sung on the galoubet and tambourine during the calendar vigil.
During the mass, the villagers bring the living nativity scene to life in the purest Provençal tradition.
The 24 December at 11.30 pm
Artist Anne Bonnefon creates elegant cyanotypes. Cyanotypes are an alternative and addictive photographic process that plays with sunlight, colour and nature.
Anne offers an introduction to greetings card-making.

Chiaki Miyamoto is a children’s book illustrator. She creates a poetic and childlike universe, inspired by animals, nature, and everyday life.

Learn how to represent space and volume through perspective!
“Drawing means projecting yourself; playing with perspective means changing your point of view; drawing lines toward the horizon already means sketching a future.”

Activities are on offer throughout the weekends, on 28 and 29 December, organised by the Brigands du Mont Paon association.
Herbalism, medieval wine tasting in a medieval tavern, minting coins in the forge, demonstrations on a war machine, knight fights, costumed strolls through the village and lectures are all on the programme!
All events are included in the price of admission to the château.
