Aubade ceremony

24 December from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm

Various places in the village

Since the 16th century, the custom of the “aubade” ceremony has been preserved by the shepherds of the Vallée des Baux.

The Master Shepherd and his flock parade through the village streets.

An ‘aubade’ (short concert) is given by tambourine players, while local women and girls dance the farandole in traditional costume (“Arlésiennes” for adults and “Mireilles” for girls aged between 8 and 15 years old).
