A spiritual, fantastic, abstract and dreamlike journey
Discover or relive the emotion of previous exhibitions! This exceptional journey through time will take you from the spiritual and fantastic world of Hieronymus Bosch through the surrealist representations of Arcimboldo to the dreamlike world of Dali, not forgetting the artistic expression of abstraction revealed by Kandinsky.
On the programme: Bosch, Brueghel, Arcimboldo, the Fantastic and Wonderful World (2017); Vassily Kandinsky, the Odyssey of Abstraction (2021); Dali, the endless enigma (2020).
This creation invites you to explore the teeming world painted by 3 sixteenth-century artists with unbridled imaginations.
From Bosch’s most iconic triptychs to Arcimboldo’s astonishing compositions of flowers and fruit, and the village festivals of the Bruegel dynasty.
Painter, poet, art theorist and founder of abstract art, Kandinsky revolutionised the history of art with his numerous compositions.
Immersed in a chromatic explosion, discover the most significant works of this surge of modernity – Composition VIII (1923), Yellow, Red, Blue (1925) – right through to his biomorphic creations of his last years.
Paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures, engravings, films and archive footage recall the unique personality of the painter with the famous moustache, but also his obsessions with the strange and the supernatural and his fascination with his wife Gala, his true muse.
