The Louis Jou Foundation welcomes a one-day conservation bookbinding workshop on Saturday, 30 May 2026.
This creative day will give participants the opportunity to create a soft paper conservation binding, along with its protective case.
Led by an experienced professional, the workshop offers a hands-on introduction to traditional bookbinding techniques.
The workshop will be conducted by Odile Douet, a professional bookbinder and former teacher at the École Estienne for 30 years. Active in France and internationally, she will pass on her skills through a precise and structured approach.
Marking out, tracing, folding and cutting from provided diagrams; working with papers and materials suited to the proposed model, as well as sewing carried out without a sewing frame, directly on or through the cover.
Audience:
This workshop is open to adults
Care and precision are essential; some basic knowledge of bookbinding is recommended
Materials:
The book block in plain paper and all the raw materials required are provided by the Foundation
A list of small tools to bring will be sent to registered participants

🚴 The Tour de Provence cycling race will pass through Les Baux-de-Provence on Sunday 15 February.Traffic will be closed between 1:45 pm and 3:00 pm on the D27A (Route des Oliviers), the Col de la Vayède and the D27 towards Arles.
