Wendy Higbee Carando, paintings

26 septembre au 26 octobre

Galerie La Cure

There is another art form that requires the same Zen patience and dexterity, but which whispers in colour: Nihonga.

Wendy Higbee Carando, an American artist and laureate of the Academy of Arts, Sciences and Letters, invites us to discover her expressionist paintings executed in the Nihonga technique, mixed with her memories and her imagination.

This Japanese technique does not use ink but is an art of patience: the materials are drawn from nature – from plant and animal minerals – giving the painting a unique velvetiness and shimmer.
