“Amateur photographer since I was 22 years old, used to travelling far away, city and landscape photography became a must. Over time, I was attracted by Italy (Veneto and Tuscany), but also France, particularly Aix-en-Provence where I live. A few years ago I finally discovered the beauty of birds and nature in the Camargue.” Michel Bacquet
Guided by a passion for music, cinema and travel, the artist found expression in photography at an early age. He captures not only the details of architecture, but also landscapes and more generally the spectacle of nature.
In recent years, the birds of the Camargue and the light that accompanies them have become a new source of inspiration. The aim here is to allow the mind to contemplate and wander freely between imagination and interpretation through a slow and meticulous approach.
He is particularly fond of simplistic aesthetics and therefore likes to work on his images as if they were fashion photos, applying, for example, to his bird portraits the same treatment of light as some studio photographers.
