Photo exhibition: 1962-1969 "Festival de danse des Baux-de-Provence"

Until 10 January Cour de Porcelet

Françoise and Dominique Dupuy dancers and choreographers created, in 1962, the first festival in France entirely devoted to dance: "Festival de dance des Baux-de-Provence".

For seven years, Les Ballets Modernes de Paris, which they founded in 1955, present their creations.

Many foreign companies are invited, notably in 1964, that of Merce Cunningham, the first to come to France. This photography exhibition pays tribute to these two pioneers of modern dance who have helped to bring the Baux-de-Provence to the artistic scene.

The Modern Ballets of Paris were dissolved in 1979. From 1978 to 1986 Françoise and Dominique Dupuy animated the "Mas de la danse" in Fontvieille.
