The village of Les Baux-de-Provence invites you to celebrate Christmas together, its traditions and its customs.

Christmas Sheep Fold → 22 December to 6 January
Sheep, ewes, lambs and goats in a Christmas crèche setting, watched over by a shepherd who will talk about his animals and his very worthwhile job. 

The flock parades along village streets at 11.00 am and 3.00 pm.

Make your own Provençal clay figurine for the Christmas crib. Follow the advice of the professional maker and you can mould figures or animals then take them home with you.

Clay modelling family workshop, make a provençal Christmas crib → 23, 24, 27, 29 and 31 December
With family and friends, make your own "scène en santon," a full Nativity scene made of clay figurines that you will bring back home.

Aubade Ceremony → 24 December, 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm - village streets
The Master Shepherd and his flock parade along the village streets. An ‘aubade’ is given by tambourine players, and local women and girls dance the farandole in traditional costume.

Candlelight vigil, music of the troubadours and Provençal Christmas carols. Living crèche featuring villagers.

Château des Baux: Christmas in Provence → 22 December to 6 January
Scheduled events: traditions, tales, and legends will come to life within the stones of this historical chateau. A soundtrack accompanies visitors as they discover the site immersed in the magical winter atmosphere.
