The Fantastic and Wonderful world of Bosch, Brueghel, Arcimboldo

Until 7 January, Carrières de Lumières

Out of their great triptychs, the subjects of Bosch fluctuate between fortune and wealth on the walls of Quarries; speak to us about the ephemeral nature of life, about pleasures and vanities of this world.

From this marvelous richness, results the fantastic opulence of the baroque and Arcimboldo, at the same time so familiar and so new. In echo, Brueghel’s allegorical paintings of, by their precision, their variations and their power call up to the contemplative wandering in the midst of the peasant then bourgeois life of the XVIth century.

Finally, as a fantastic and wonderful synthesis, in a continuous crescendo, the most famous work of Bosch, the “Garden of the Delights”, brings the visitor out of time. Between modernity and audacity, it transports the public in the sensations and the visions of a surreal and transcendent world.

Realisation → Gianfranco Iannuzzi, Renato Gatto et Massimiliano Siccardi, music de Luca Longobardi.

The short film  → Georges Méliès, the "cinémagicien"

The short film pays tribute to Georges Méliès, film-maker and genius inventor of the beginning of the XXth century. The visitor is pulled in a mischievous, magical and extravagant journey. Mixture of emotion, films, old fashioned movies with tricks and wonderful visions, the show is a tribute to the child's soul of the man who called himself the "cinémagicien".
